Thanks for these tips. The main feature I focused on when buying my first scope was the camera that can be directly connected to the eyepiece and my laptop. I just can't stand the thought of leaning over and squinting for hours at a time. Would kill my back. I think a stand to put my phone onto will probably be best. There's an endless learning curve with this stuff. Thanks for the tips.
I've personally found the higher objectives to not be very useful so far. Most of what needs to be seen can be seen best with just 4x objective, and most relevant details are revealed with 10x objective. Stuff at the "nano" scale isn't visible with a regular optical microscope anyways, and often it's more important to look for the macro scale effects of the technology.
I am thinking about going with Soroosh and his Micro Safari microscope, Horizons for LBA. I don't really need his kit, just the scope. What say you, Matt and the microscope community? Just for context, I despise Amazon and will go with some non-Amazon company simply on principle, so there's that ...
Thanks for the great write up. I think I’m going to take your advice and go for a 100-200 dollar scope to start off and see where I want to go with it instead of getting a higher quality one and building on top of it. Im a farmer/rancher and want to spend some effort looking at the plant kingdom, any extra tips you have on that would be great.
Good thinking. the best shot i have is from the blood of a sheep i killed recently. it shows the live blood reacting electrically or magnetically to one of the morgellons fibres or cnt's, and that was only at x40. a good example.
Hey Matt, are you able to see the Quantum Dots that Mihalcea is finding at 60x? Or is this one of the reasons to get the 100x oil objective? Thanks for the informative piece!

Maybe have a talk to Eric at FM8 on telegram as they have 100 plus all the same scope in the states. He's a good guy and always responds to questions.

I never use the oil and have 2 useless x100 objectives. Maybe I will later on but for mst i would say stick to dry, up to X80.
Yes i can see them clearly at times 40. but using digital to expand.
Ok thanks for the info!
Thanks for the great information. Regards. Dr Angel
